Career Progression

The Masters programme is one of the most popular programmes among those who want to start their own business as an entrepreneur. Graduates also choose from the following career path but not limited.

A genuine interest in supporting businesses and the ability to use your own experiences across a range of specialisms is more important than a specific degree subject.

If you enjoy evaluating and analysing data, creating solutions, working with a variety of people and have a good grasp of information technology, a career as a business analyst could be for you

Business development managers are concerned with improving and growing a business, by establishing and developing relationships with customers, suppliers and other partners

You need to be great with figures and have the ability to explain financial information clearly to excel as a chartered management accountant

To succeed as a corporate investment banker, you’ll need a keen financial mind as well as an understanding of how money is made and invested

If being in charge of schemes, resources and people motivates you, and you can work under pressure to tight deadlines, a career as a project manager may suit you

Risk managers advise organisations on any potential risks to the profitability, safety, security or existence of the company

Supply chain managers are responsible for the movement of goods, from manufacturers and suppliers to the customer

Human resources directors plan and coordinate all the administrative functions of an organization, serving as a link between an organization’s management and its employees. Tasks include overseeing recruiting, interviewing, and hiring; organizing employee benefit programs; and mediating disputes. These professionals must have keen interpersonal, leadership, and decision-making skills.

Information systems managers plan and coordinate computer-related activities within an organization, usually by overseeing a team of IT professionals. Tasks include analyzing IT needs and goals, assessing costs and benefits, researching new technology, and directing the installation and maintenance of software and hardware. This job requires analytical, communication, decision-making, and organization skills.

Further Study

Your Masters degree did what it was rightfully meant to do – it gave you new perspectives about careers you’d never have thought about, your electives gave you insights into each of these new areas.

But a general management degree may not be able to do justice as it may fail to develop deeper into a specific area.

So, even with a Masters, you may end up with the feeling that you lack the required expertise and knowledge needed to pursue a career in this newfound area of interest.

  • Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)

  • Certification in Risk Management Assurance (CRMA)

  • Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM)

  • Project Management Professional (PMP)

  • MBA from an International Business School
