As part of their work visa application, applicants offered a job in the UK may be required to take a 2-skill (Speaking & Listening) or 4-skill (Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking) LanguageCert SELT exam to demonstrate their English language proficiency.
The required minimum Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) level varies by visa type. Applicants with a higher language level can take an exam that is more difficult than the minimum requirement as long as it assesses the same skills that are also required for the visa application.
The information about visa requirements is subject to change. Applicants must follow UK Government guidance on English language exams for visas and are responsible for taking the appropriate exam.
Before registering for an exam, applicants should contact their sponsors to confirm which CEFR level they require.
