Programme Summary

Our BSc (Hons) Banking and Finance degree is designed to help you develop the desirable skills and knowledge required for a successful career in the financial sector. As the programme is also integrated with various professional qualifications, it provides you with the teaching required to undertake external professionally recognised exams, such as the Investment Management Certificate (IMC), Investment Advice Diploma and Chartered Financial Analyst – CFA® Level I.

If you have previously completed an SQA HND in Financial Services, a level 5 programme or a HND* you may be eligible to join our one year BSc Banking and Finance [Top-Up] programme, which enables you to extend your studies to earn a full honours degree.

The curriculum allows you to prepare for professional qualification exams while studying for your BSc (Hons). You will be encouraged to formalise these qualifications through the relevant professional bodies following successful completion of the relevant degree programme modules.

Entry requirements

240 UCAS tariff points at GCE A-Level or equivalent. Appropriate AS-Level and Level 3 Key Skills qualifications will also be taken into account. Applicants must also have five GCSE passes at grades A, B or C including Mathematics and English. International students must prove valid qualifications equivalent to the above requirements.

English language proficiency for international students: IELTS 6.0 overall with a minimum of 5.5 in each component or equivalent.

Fees & Funding

Tuition fees cover the cost of a student’s academic studies. This usually includes teaching costs, registration and examination fees (not repeat or tailing modules, re-sit fees or coursework resubmission). Any costs associated with work placements will be the students responsibility.
