Programme Summary

This course provides a secure grounding in theory and practice, focused on modern commercial realities, from which to progress towards a variety of further studies and career options throughout the world of accounting and finance.

Students will have the opportunity to develop knowledge, skills and insight in the following areas:

•  The concepts and theories of accounting within a broad economic, legal, social and professional environment.

•  The basic principles of auditing, investment, finance, taxation and their implications for individuals, organisations, markets, societies and other disciplines.
•  Alternative recognition rules and valuation bases.
•  The recording, preparation, presentation and analysis of financial information.
•  Business and financial information technology and systems and Professional ethics.
•  Qualitative and quantitative analysis of accounting data.

Entry requirements

Applicants must satisfy our general entry requirements as well as meeting specific requirements. The general entry requirements are as follows:

  • International equivalent of 260-300 UCAS points at A Level standard (NARIC)
  • Grade B in GCSE Maths or international equivalent

English entry requirements

IELTS 6.0 (no contributing band below 5.5) or equivalent.

Students wishing to join the courses at an overall IELTS (or equivalent SELT) 5.5 (no contributing band below 5.0) may be able to enrol on a pre-sessional English course

Fees & Funding

Tuition fees cover the cost of a student’s academic studies. This usually includes teaching costs, registration and examination fees (not repeat or tailing modules, re-sit fees or coursework resubmission). Any costs associated with work placements will be the students responsibility.
