Programme Summary

The Master of Cyber Security is designed for postgraduate scholars who wish to gain a more detailed understanding of the technical skills and expertise relevant to the technical implementation and leadership of the cyber security function. It is designed to meet the demand for technical experts who can implement and lead the technical cyber security function in government, industry, law enforcement and defence. Providing principles gathered from information systems, systems engineering, computer science, network security, and defence, to enhance a career as a cyber security specialist. The Master of Cyber Security is offered primarily via Intensive Delivery Mode – due to the nature of the courses and the use of the Cyber Range.

Students will gain an understanding of the impact of cyber crimes on national security, critical infrastructure and emerging sovereignty rules.  Students will examine the trends and issues of cyber risks to internet-based and networked computer systems.

Your learning outcomes include:

• Discover the definitions of cyber security/warfare and its implications;
• Identify and describe the impact of cyber security and state security issues;
• Discuss the impact of cyber crime on society, and
• Critically evaluate the current international legal issues of self defence and cyber armed conflict.

Entry requirements

Academic Requirement

  • An honours degree (at least 2:2 or above) in a relevant area, or equivalent.

English Language Requirement

  • IELTS: 6.0 overall with no other element below 5.5

Fees & Funding

Tuition fees cover the cost of a student’s academic studies. This usually includes teaching costs, registration and examination fees (not repeat or tailing modules, re-sit fees or coursework resubmission). Any costs associated with work placements will be the students responsibility.
