This course provides a concise overview of how financial strategies are used to create value for an organization. It will allow delegates to use accounting information to form key financial ratios to measure a company’s financial health and to manage a company’s short- term and long-term liquidity needs. Participants will also learn how to use valuation techniques to make sound business investment and acquisition decisions. Finally, participants will learn how to incorporate risk and uncertainty into investment decisions and how to evaluate the performance of existing investments.

  • Interpret accounting statements to measure the financial health of companies.
  • Predict a company’s short and manage long-term liquidity needs.
  • Concentrate on the application of derivatives in a corporate finance environment. For instance, risk management, optimal gearing and tangible actions.
  • Classify and examine debt in terms of maturity, fixed/floating mix, and currency mix.
  • Demonstrate how to return excess funds to shareholders, taking into account merger motives and pay-out policy.
