MAGNA CARTA’S IMPORTANCE AND HISTORY

A. Magna Carta was a statement of law issued by King John of England in 1215.

B. The main idea was the principle that the king is not above the government law and the fair trial system.

C. Magna Carta is the first independence script that was inscribed in writing.

D. According to the UK Parliament (2023), Magna Carta was not initially intended to be a document of constitutional law but more as propaganda supporting the cause of the rebels.

E. Magna Carta is known as a liberty source.

F. The 1215 Charter prohibition against imposing imprisonment without adequate legal procedure was one of its most important clauses. This concept apparently can be illustrated in the 39th.

G. 39th clause: “No free man shall be seized or imprisoned, or stripped of his rights or possessions, or outlawed or exiled, or deprived of his standing in any other way except by the lawful judgement of his equals or by the law of the land” (The National Archives, 2023).
