- Margin Call (2011)
Margin Call is based on the financial crisis story in 2008. Consequently, the subprime mortgage crisis of 2007 and the 2008 bankruptcy of Lehman Brothers served as the inspiration for the movie. The name of the CEO in the movie, John Tuld, substantially recalls the real CEO of Lehman Brothers, Dick Fuld, which serves as further confirmation of the comparison.

A group of investors made a wager against the US mortgage industry in 2006 – 2007. They learn from their investigation how defective and dishonest the market is (Randolph et al.).
- The Social Network (2010)
The film delves deeply into Mark Zuckerberg’s life and the creation of Facebook. You get to see how Eduardo Saverin, a friend and fellow creator of Facebook, and Mark Zuckerberg attempt to resolve a dispute that ended up in court. Although this film doesn’t appear to be your normal inspiring film, it has numerous hidden themes that will keep you engaged. This film shows many personalities working together to create one of the biggest social networks in use today. The movie also shows the difficulties that real-life business owners experience when they first launch their companies and how persistence always pays off.
